Harper. The stats.

Finally, I had you weighed and measured, haven't had it done since you were 6ish months (I think!)

Little potamus, you are 77.5cms long and 9.8kgs with a head circumference of 49.5cms.

Of course, along with having you weighed and measured, you had your 12 month immunisations, which I will admit was a bit mean - especially 2 days out from Xmas, but you were very brave and it was all worth it for the purple lollypop you were given afterwards.

Harper. 13 months old.

Happy 13 months little lady.

It's almost Christmas, you're going to be stoked with the little tram-am-poline we have for you.

You crack me up with your dancing, and you can almost jump too.

You love ducks at the moment, and you try to 'quack' by saying 'kwok kwok'. Super cute.

I'm not a fan of this one-sleep-a-day business you're doing at the moment...I hope it's a phase.

Love you lots little person. xx

Harp.

Hey Harp!

You're not very well right now, you poor little sausage. We took your sister to the Hospital for Botox today and you stayed with Nanny & Poppy - all reports are you were a doll. Thank-you.

You went to sleep soonish after we got home, I have missed a whole day of Harp :(

Sleep tight my little friend, tomorrow we shall play. xx

Harper. 12 months old.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY HARPER!!

I love you more than chocolate my littlest person.

This year has gone so fast. Every minute with you is such fun. You make me smile always.

You've started walking this past week. It's beautiful.

You toddle around with such ease, it only took you 3 days to master. Today you tried to run, without much success, but it was awfully, awfully cute.

Your hair is so long now, it's curled at the back. You remind me of the guy from The Office, with your shaggy locks, but still super cute.

You still love to play peek-a-boo, but now it's aaah-beee! Too funny. You put your hand above your ear to hide.

You won't let me brush your hair, but you'll gladly do it yourself, the whole time saying, "preeeeeeet" for pretty.

Your favourite toys are Isla's textas much to her disgust. I often find you covered in texta on your legs. In fact, you really only play with Isla's things. You particularly love Isla's kindy days where you can play in her room all you like without getting in to trouble.

You still eat everything, I'm a little sick of my house smelling like sausages, seeing as though that's your favourite at the moment. You do have some strange texture issue with icing at the moment, you cry and try to wipe it off you while you gag, you strange little person.

I don't have many photo's of you right now, you're so hard to keep still, and all the shots I took of you this morning your eyes were closed (great photographer I am!) so this one will have to do for now. I know it looks like you only have 1 leg, but it was dark, stormy and about a billion degrees, all we wanted was to eat dinner and get stuck into your ice cream cake!

You babble all day now, and you call people by their names. Tonight you walked up to Poppy while calling out to him. You also yelled out "Bye Iyah!" at Isla's Kindy Orientation yesterday. You call all dogs Moopy after Nanny & Poppy's dog, and today you even said Suzy (yet another dog). Clever girl.

Happy 1st year Harp. You make my heart sing. xx

Harper. 11 months old.

1 month 'til you're ONE.

My precious little person.

Happiest kid on the block. My sweet little Harper, you've grown so much. I could listen to you babble all day and all night (well, maybe not all night!).

You take your pants off when you want a bath now. You can stand on your own without holding on for a few seconds before you realise and freak out.

You have the most bizarre half crawl/half walk thing happening, my little pussy cat.

Still eating everything, you love sausages the best.

Can't wait for your birthday, a year goes too fast. xx

7 weeks.

Oh Harper.

Only 7 weeks until your first birthday.

Where has this year gone?

Where has my baby gone?

You cruise the furniture with ease, you call yourself "Barper", you can show us your nose.

A year goes by too fast.

I love you so.

Harper. 10 months old.

Happy 5/6 of a year baby.

This past month has been so busy for you my little mouse. Within the space of the last week, you have learned to crawl, pull to stand, cruise the furniture and cut two teeth.
Wow.

You are so completely different to your sister, and I find myself constantly amazed at how much you can do with so little effort, where Isla struggled so much.

You eat everything in sight. Last week you climbed on top of your sister for her sandwich. You got it too. There's not a single food we've given you that you haven't liked.

You wore your hair in a ponytail for the first time yesterday, and looked so much like Pebbles from the Flintstones.

You're changing everyday, but lately you look so much like your big sister did at your age...which is so odd because I can't see the resemblance just looking at you two, it's only in photo's.

Love you my sweet little pussy cat.

Teeth.

Welcome to Harper's mouth!

2 new teeth came through yesterday, one little girl who can actually bit through bikkies now.

Hello baby.

Harp has been my model for my course lately. I've been trying to get a good shot of her to use as my portrait assignment, without much luck.

Here are some pics of her anyway, little ratbag she is.

eta I did originally upload more, but am using a shitty monitor atm and the colour correction was shocking!

Harper. 9 months old.

Happy 9 months baby.

You're so much fun these days. We're always smiling - except for bedtime!

You were such a beautiful girl yesterday, you slept all night for Mummy without making a peep from the moment I put you in there, but you woke up when Daddy got up for work this morning. I only wish you knew how much I appreciate it!

You're absolutely adoring bath time now, you used to hate it. It's so funny to watch you bum shuffle from one end of the bath to the other.

Two little toothy-pegs have almost come through, they're sitting just under your gums. You're chewing on EVERYTHING in sight.

Still eating like a maniac, your poor big sister has to sit across the room from you to eat otherwise you pull at her arms/hair/clothes etc until you get her food, all the while squarking at her like a seagull.

You love to play peek-a-boo, you used to hide behind your wraps, but now you just lift your hands over your head and pretend to hide. You're super cute.

Harper. 8 months old.

Terribly slack.

Poor little Harper.

You are now 8 (and a bit) months old, my littlest friend.

I can't remember how life was before you arrived. You fit in perfectly.

Such a happy girl, so utterly deliciously cute.

You say Mumma now. And Bubba. And Dadda. And Isla. You clever chook.

You love to be outside, eating the grass, no less. You love your vegies, actually, you love anything that can be eaten.

You finally have your own room. What a joy. I miss having you at the foot of my bed, but it seems you're too cool to fret about poor old Mum. We lost your cot bolts when we moved, your mattress is on the floor, we tried you in the portacot, but your mattress didn't fit. We were worried about you wriggling and getting stuck.

I found you this morning on the floor. And you laughed.

You can almost crawl, my sweet little love.

Love you more than the stars in the sky, Harry High Pants. xx

Harper. 7 months old.

Hello Baby.

You are still oh so sweet. Every day you smile more, and my heart snuggles you in that little bit closer.

Today we went for 6 month needles (I know, a month late) and I say we, because the Dr insisted I have a Whooping Cough booster too.

All went well, she barely cried.

Weighed and measured, 7.9kgs and 69cms long. Only 700gram gain in 2 months.

Still super cute though.

Babbles a LOT now, says Iyah (for Isla) and Dada - damn it, not mumma. Also says "Ha-ba" which we think is her effort for Harper.

Loves her vegies. Was still on the anti-reflux formula until the Dr today suggested I take her off it and see how she goes.

Harry High Pants

You are just too cute, my littlest princess.

I've just gone back to work, and Harp is just learning to get on without me. It's been very hard for her, but now the tears are less frequent. Joy.

She's settling for her Nana, and for her Daddy when I'm not here.

Last night, for Mum's birthday we went to her favourite little Vietnamese restaurant. The owner asked if he could hold Harp, and we said, "Sure, but she'll scream". He took her and sat across the restaurant with her, and she smiled and laughed. He passed her to a waitress. Harp was a dream! She went through about 5 sets of hands before coming back to us, where they told us, "HE's a beautiful little boy". huh?

We said she was a girl and one waitress turned to the other staff and said, "See, I told you she was too pretty to be a boy!".

So, my little friend, you're getting better with people. Now to get you liking the car...

Harper. 6 months old.

Happy Half Birthday Harper-potamus.

Still super-cute. Still sleeping all night long. Still love your cuddles.

Lots of new things now, I swear Harp says "Isla" - it comes out more like, "I-yah" which is exactly how Isla used to say it. So cute, will give it a little longer before we claim it as her first word. Coincidentally, Isla's first word was also Isla.

Harp has just learnt to sit on her own these past two weeks. So clever. Utterly bizarre to see her sitting up on her own, little Isla still can't sit that way. In lots of ways (more physically than anything) it's like Harp is my first child. All the developmental milestones that she's reached that Isla never did, or did much later.

Almost outgrown her bassinette. I say this all the time. I have absolutely no idea where the bolts are for Isla's old cot. Isla hasn't been in her cot since 2006 - I have no idea where to start looking. Maybe I should just buy a new one? Either way, she's trying to roll over in there and it's not happening, I'm a tad concerned that she's going to topple the whole thing over. Yikes.

Little Harper, love you lots.

Harper. 5 months old.

Miss Harper, 5 months on. My beautiful little girl. You're such a delight.

This weekend we're celebrating Harper's Naming Day with a High Tea.

Hopefully she'll be awake for the ceremony and not completely covered in vomit.

She had her 4 month needles a week or two ago. Weighed and measured too. Dr asked how she was feeding, I said on Anti Reflux formula yet she still throws up a LOT. He took one look at her and said, "well, obviously that's not a problem for her" in reference to her sizeable cheeks.

7.18kgs - almost exactly half of her 4 year old sister's weight. 64cms long. Utterly adorable.

Still sleeping through the night, a few nights last week after the injections were a bit awful, but I can't complain. Still being wrapped, I am dreading the time when we can no longer wrap, thinking about trying to wean her off it now, but don't like my chances - if it ain't broke, don't fix it, right?

Full of smiles and chuckles, lots of pitching and squealing. Trying to teach her to say Mummmmm with no luck yet. This week, Harp has learnt to put her binkie back in her mouth when she spits it out. Hooray. Now to teach her how to do it in the dark of night.

Most of her beautiful long hair fell out a few months back, leaving the most bizarre bald ring around the back of her head. Still has the remnants of her most awesome faux-hawk in shades of it's former glory, now nothing more than a few pesky long hairs standing up like a cockatoo, high above the new baby fuzz that's grown in and now about 1cm long.

As I write this, Harp is happy swinging away in her, um, swing. We're going through a pack of Heavy duty D batteries a week with the amount of use the swing gets. Best $200 I ever spent. It's the only place she'll have her day sleeps, there or in my arms. I choose the swing.

Love you little Harry-High-Pants.

Oops.

haven't forgotten this place, honest. I just seem to be so busy with Isla and little Harper that I just don't find the time to post about my littlest Princess.

Little Harper is 4 months now, I cannot believe it. This time last year I was only just getting over the fact that I was actually pregnant (after 19 months of TTC). As I write this now, she's asleep in her rocker, which seems to be her favourite sleeping spot at the moment.

Still a wonderful sleeper, there's probably only been 5 times since NYE 2008 that she hasn't slept through the night. Usually goes down around 7pm and wakes anywhere from 5-7am. BLISS!

No idea what size clothes she's in. Some things that are 000 fit, somethings 00 fit. Hard to work it all out. We weighed her at the hospital the other day, 6.65kgs :) She's having between 5-6 180mL bottles each day.

She's mastered rolling from front to back (sometimes helped along by losing balance!) and can *almost* roll from back to front, just.can't.quite.get.there. Picks up toys with her feet and brings them up to her hands. Thinks her hands are the most fascinating thing ever.

Lots of giggles and smiles, although still a very serious little person. She's lost most of her beautiful dark spikey hair, and now has a long tuft on the top of her head and long bits at the back of her neck (terrible description) but still incredibly cute.

Isla simply adores her. It's so beautiful, lots of kisses and cuddles, helps get binkies, tells me "I'll look after her Mum" when I need to make a bottle or do something else.

Her naming day is April 26th. I've bought her the cutest navy and white dress and bloomers to wear. We're having a High Tea - can't wait.

Harper. Almost 13 weeks.

Bad Mummy!

Terribly slack updating Harp's blog. I have good intentions, honestly I do, but I just seem to forget about this place.

Well, Pumba is 13 weeks tomorrow. I can't believe she's 3 months on Friday! Crazy talk.

She's till lovely, such a cool, laid back kid. She's having a nice little snooze on the lounge behind me as I type this. She's still sleeping really, really well. Usually til around 5ish still, going down around 7pm. Bliss.

Still can't work out what size she is. I bought her a size 0 wondersuit the other week and it fits! OMG! My little baby isn't so little any more.

Lot's of babble, sooooo cute. Still wakes up happy, having a chat in her bassinette, usually making "yeah, yeah, yeah" sounds! I bought her a swing the other week, which has been a god-send in getting her to sleep some days, as she likes to be cuddled a lot!

Almost too long for her bassinette. I really can't wait to move house. Really. Very sick of living here, and oddly we moved here to save, yet never have any money left over at the end of the week, I don't quite understand it at all! Harp needs to go into her cot very soon, so I'm hoping we find a place SOON so that can be a reality - although should we stay here longer, I could just put her cot into Isla's room given Isla rarely sleeps an entire night in there - but that's another story!

What else.

I have pictures of my littlest princess but they're pretty big, so I'll resize and post soon!

Harper. 10 and a bit weeks.

I have been SO slack with updating!

Harp has grown so much, she changes every day. She's still lovely, and sleeeps ALL NIGHT! She'll normally go down between 7 and 8 and sleeps until 5ish, so I still get a little bit of my Matt Lauer fix!

She's goo-ing and gaa-ing all the time now, in fact she's behind me doing it everytime the fan blows past her. She's coped witht this feral heat SO well, it hasn't really bothered her too much, other than making her really sweaty!

I can't quite work out what size she's in now, she's outgrown some of her 0000 things and no longer fits into her 000 wondersuits, but some 000 things swim on her, it's all too confusing!

She's a pretty easy going little person, lots of smiles and giggles :)

She had her needles 2 and a bit weeks ago, so she was pretty angry for a few days folllowing, but has come good again, thankfully. I had her hips checked again and the Dr found a click,I'd heard it before-hand, so we went for an ultrasound which she screamed the whole way through.

Results came back on Friday, slight instability, nothing to worry about. Will re-scan in 2 months time to be sure. Hmm. Will speak to Isla's physio about it on Tuesday.

Which leads to why we've been so busy lately, Isla had a birthday, her 4th in fact. Isla had a party which was lovely, and since then I have had little time for anything! I will update her blog for more news on her: islasjourney.blogspot.com

At 8 weeks, Miss Harper weighed in at 5.2kgs and 59.5cms long, and utterly adorable :)

Harper. 6 and a bit weeks.

Happy New Year!!

Harper decided to sleep ALL night this past week - twice in fact! I think she may have done it again last night but I kicked a poweboard when I got up around 1am last night and she woke up :( But went back to sleep after a quick feed and woke up again around 5.30. She's having a lovely snooze right now, a complete 180 after yesterday where she was such an unhappy camper, poor little chicken.

We visited a friend for her birthday yesterday, she has the littlest 4ish week old, Makayla. She's so tiny, Harper looked like a sumo wrestler in comparison! I'll try and get a pic of them together at Isla's party on the weekend.

What else can I report about little H? She's been much more settled this past week, which happens to coincide with me putting her completely on AR formula. Yesterday was the first time in a week that we've had a witching hour of sorts (well, a witching 7 hours!) I'm sure it's the AR. I'm also thinking she may be having a growth spurt, she's been taking 180mls of formula lately at each feed, but perhaps it's more to do with missing her overnight feeds because she's sleeping?
